Women of Distinction2009Extraordinary women make a difference in our community every day. Some are well known around town while others are quiet, unsung heroes. Yet they all give their time, effort and energy, making Juneau a better place for everyone to live. Each year friends, families and community supporters gather to honor four local sheroes at a gala dinner event. On March 7, 2009, during Women’s History Month, AWARE will be hosting our thirteenth annual “Women of Distinction” awards dinner, and we are once again asking for nominations from the community. A nominee’s accomplishments do not have to be related to domestic violence; rather we are looking for women who have worked to benefit the lives of women and children in Juneau. We know there are many deserving women among our friends and neighbors, and we need your help identifying them! Please provide us with the requested information on the nomination form below and return it to AWARE by October 17th and help us select the four women to be honored on March 7th. Please feel free to share this nomination form with others. It is heartwarming and inspiring to hear from the four women at this sell-out event, which, this year, will be held at Centennial Hall. Even if you aren’t submitting a nomination, be sure to mark your calendar for March 7, 2009 and watch for more information on this festive event. It’s an evening you won’t want to miss!
